No ifs, ands or butts, visiting hours are over! Not another peep, not a word Spring has begun to spring here actually which means we’re actually getting greener pastures here. We’ll be repairing some fencing so the girls can have some additional turnout pastures and not just graze down the main one.

Actually what we did used some great electrical portable fencing which allows real flexibility in grazing rotation. We even had them up here outside in our backyard which was great . The only problem was there was a cattle guard which Dan thought they wouldnt go over and didnt fence. Natch, they found an alternate route and were summarily found trotting up the road. No harm, no foul, we got them back quite quickly, thoug. it could have made for a a long day.

But a collective sigh could be heard from the assembled multitude.. as yes, the cattle have moved pasture which requires again the ritual” stop rig, unhook fence, climb back in rig after listening to assorted cow moos, drive thru gate, get out and close”. But who needs TV when you can watch Animal Farm right out your dashboard

In the course of making sure our critters be it they are equines or lambs stay put, you need a handy dandy tool that you can carry with for quick repairs. As tools go, multi-tools (those with multiple functions, such as the Leatherman) are a relatively young addition to the workshop. Anyway, Leatherman has a set of knives out that expand on their multi-tool line. This one comes with a screwdriver and several bits stored in the handle, it gives you Leatherman brand’s multi-tool function without the bulky wrench. Works for me

Sometimes we need to build fences; other times tear ‘em down. Where do you need to mend fences?
